Joey Porter Released.

By Ronn Burner • on February 12, 2010

The Miami Dolphins released Joey Porter today. If this move comes as a surprise to you then I don’t have the heart to tell you **SPOILER ALERT** Conan O’Brien is no longer hosting The Tonight Show.

Porter was going to be owed $4.6 million had he reamined on the Dolphins roster beyond March 7th but it was all but a foregone conclusion that he was going to be cut even before his ridiculously immature bashing of the Dolphins that still employed him. The best part is Porter will never get the money elswhere he would have received here but his monumental ego and even bigger mouth not only sealed his fate in Miami but most likely even lowered the paltry amount he was hoping to make.

As I said in another article, I will always remember and appreciate the Joey Porter that terrorized quarterbacks in 2008 for us but other than Ted Ginn packing his bags I couldn’t be happier about a guy leaving town. When you alienate those that once adored you, the love fest quickly turns to pure detest.

Gibril Wilson has been understandably silent and I can respect that but I also wouldn’t advise going grocery shopping just yet either. I suspect he’s next. And then there will be one.
